Full Job Description
DGR Systems, a growing premier technology consulting company, is actively seeking a Network Security Engineer experienced in the design and implementation of enterprise networks to join our highly competent team. As a Network Security Engineer, you will perform a variety of technical and operational duties in support of the company’s network security practice.
This position requires a candidate who is motivated and passionate about network security concepts such as LAN/WAN and SD-WAN. In addition, this position requires a candidate with excellent communication and presentation skills who can engage with clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and transition Fortinet firewalls, switches, access points, and other security solutions to meet the needs of customers.
- Work alongside other engineering resources.
- Maintain evolving industry certifications and participate in continuous professional development.
- Create and maintain complex network documentation and topology diagrams.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with network appliances (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Meraki, Watchguard, Juniper).
- Proficiency in Fortinet's products and solutions is highly valued.
- Fortinet FCP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- In-depth understanding of network engineering, security (endpoint and network firewall) architecture and design.
- Demonstrated experience with routing protocols, network (wired and wireless) design, implementation, and troubleshooting network performance issues.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN administration and concepts including DHCP, DNS, VLAN's, firewalls, NAT, wireless technology, and the ability to configure switches required.
- Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining SD-WAN highly desired.
- Ability to quickly analyze and assess issues and collaborate in real time.
- Ability to create network diagrams and detailed design and implementation documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team to achieve objectives.
- Ability to follow defined methodologies to ensure a successful outcome of delivery engagements.
- Up-to-date understanding of modern security threats and defense methods.
- Able to clearly communicate detailed technical concepts in both oral and written formats.
- Thorough understanding of modern routing and switching technologies including cloud networking concepts.
- Proven track record in guiding clients through the evaluation and selection of technical solutions to address business requirements in a consultative manner.
- Must be willing to work with customers who are located in mountain and pacific time zones.
- Must be willing to travel when needed.
