Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pharmacy to oversee all pharmacy operations within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will lead the pharmacy team in providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective medication management.
- Oversee the pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians, to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy outcomes for patients.
- Manage the pharmacy budget, inventory, and formulary to maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in pharmacy management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy required. Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred.
- Experience: At least three years previous pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Nevada Pharmacist License within three months of hire. Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) with the State of NV following NV License within three months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
- Physical Demands: Occasional prolonged standing/walking; Occasional heavy lifting of supplies/equipment, 20-30 pounds.
- Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
