As a senior specialist, you will assist employees and managers with complex issues such as employee relations and investigations, administering leave and accommodations, and increasing employee engagement, education, and development, Your goal is to think about the big picture of ROC and guide the employee experience to match who we want to be. This means timely service for employees and leaders, proactive communication, garnering feedback, resolving conflicts, and building relationships within the organization.

What would you do as an Employee Experience Specialist (HR)?
The Employee Experience Specialist (Senior HR Specialist) is responsible for providing support to employees in 2-3 Human Resources related areas, including employee relations, engagement, and development. The Sr. HR Specialist differs from an HR Specialist, and is responsible to make decisions quickly based on judgement calls and legal risk without a clearly defined procedure for every specific situation.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Provide confidential advice, guidance, and support across the organization regarding a broad range of employee relations issues, performance issues and disciplinary action, manager-employee communications, conflict resolution, and investigations;
- Assist employees and managers of the organization with their human resources related needs, questions, and concerns;
- Communicate employee issues and corrections both verbally and in writing to the employee and various functional work groups in a professional, concise manner;
- Partner with client groups to manage the employee performance management process, including employee reviews, feedback, and accountability;
- Administer various types of leaves and accommodations, including notifying employees of their rights, reviewing required forms, collecting insurance premiums, tracking of hours, and reviewing ADA accommodations requested;
Employee Engagement and Development
- Develop, coordinate, and report on various employee engagement and recognition programs for the organization;
- Develop feedback channels for employees to give feedback, and analyze and report on data;
- Create and maintain communication from HR to employees;
- Develop and present employee education sessions, including topics such as healthcare benefits and planning for retirement;
- Develop and deliver various training and development tools and classes to employees;
- Partner with business lines to plan for succession and develop high potential employees;
- Assist business lines in creating onboarding training for new employees;
Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
Requirements
What do you need to be considered for this role? (required)
Certifications/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in related field OR equivalent experience in similar role and High School Diploma/GED;
Knowledge of:
- Good knowledge of human resource related Federal/State/local regulations including but not limited to Title VII and related laws, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA;
- Working knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration.
Experience:
- Three years of experience performing human resources duties as described above;
- Interpreting complex people related laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines;
- Performing research, analyzing data and information and preparing reports to present findings;
- Analyzing human resource problems and recommending solutions.
How can you set yourself apart from other candidates? (not required)
Experience creating and maintaining employee-focused HR programs or forms of feedback;
Experience presenting various HR related training sessions.
