You would have a unique opportunity to join a dedicated team of HR professionals as a leader. Contribute to team's success by supervising HR Specialists and provide HR support, counseling and advice to our leadership and employees. You would support leaders and employees, from employee relations to FMLA and ADA administration to HR training and employee education sessions. Our HR team strives for the best service and advice we can give, and you would be a crucial part in our success. What would you do as an HR Supervisor?

The Human Resources (HR) Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising Human Resources staff to meet departmental goals, as well as providing support to employees and leadership in various Human Resources related areas, including performance management, employee relations, wage, and hour compliance, pay and benefit administration, leave administration, and talent acquisition.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead direct reports by motivating, inspiring, and supporting staff to a higher level of engagement, productivity, and quality outcomes;
  • Conduct performance reviews, review work and provide educational and development opportunities for direct reports;
  • Analyze productivity, quality of work and provide recommendations and development as well as cover work of direct reports as needed;
  • Assist with human resources situations that are escalated as needed;
  • Develop and maintain effective communication within the organization.
  • Be a champion and a positive change agent for the organization’s mission, vision, guiding principles and initiatives. 
  • Contribute to the overall success of the company through participation in and support of cross functional activities, communications, processes, policies, protocols, and best practices;
  • Collaborate with executives, directors, managers and other staff within the organization.

HR Responsibilities

  • Exercise considerable judgment in making determinations and recommendations regarding classification standards, regulatory compliance, organizational policy and procedures;
  • Assist employees and managers of the organization with their human resources related needs, questions, and concerns;
  • Administer various types of leaves and accommodations, including notifying employees of their rights, reviewing required forms, collecting insurance premiums, tracking of hours, and reviewing ADA accommodations requested;
  • Communicate employee issues and corrections both verbally and in writing to the employee and various functional work groups in a professional, concise manner;
  • Provide confidential advice, guidance, and support across the organization regarding a broad range of employee relations issues, performance issues and disciplinary action, manager-employee communications, employee engagement, conflict resolution, investigations, work authorizations, and accommodations;
  • Partner with client groups to manage the employee performance management process, including employee reviews, feedback, and accountability;
  • Manage the talent acquisition process for assigned positions including sourcing strategy, posting, monitoring, scheduling, following up, creating offer letters, and working with hiring manager to complete the process;
  • Create, review and edit job descriptions;
  • Create, enact and improve people policies, procedures, and human resources process;
  • Assist with the compilation of various compensation benchmarking data for organization compensation analysis;
  • Develop and deliver various training and development tools and classes to employees and managers;
  • Promote employee engagement through regular scheduling and execution of HR Connections Program with assigned employee groups;
  • Analyze human resource analytics and report data including assigned metrics on HR key metric scorecard, ad hoc reporting requests from internal clients, EEO annual reporting, and OSHA reporting;
  • Verify retirement plan eligibility and preparing contribution reports and communication;
  • Review and recommend edits and interpret the organization’s policies and people related guidelines.

Requirements

We are looking for an HR professional that has experience in a similar setting, in a role that included varied HR-related functions.

Certifications/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field OR equivalent experience in similar role and High School Diploma/GED;

Knowledge of:

  • Detailed knowledge of human resource related Federal/State/local regulations including but not limited to Title VII and related laws, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA;
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration.

Experience:

  • Five years of experience performing human resources duties as described above;
  • Interpreting complex people related laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • Performing research, analyzing data and information and preparing reports to present findings;
  • Analyzing human resource problems and recommending solutions.

How can you set yourself apart? (not required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field;
  • Intermediate knowledge of Paylocity HRIS;
  • Working knowledge of US retirement and/or benefits laws and administration.
