The Role
The main priority of the Key Account Manager (KAM) is to drive the strategy and initiatives established by the Congo Brands leadership team within their assigned grocery and convenience chains. The KAM will be responsible for achieving volume and distribution goals of the Congo Brands portfolio within their assigned accounts. The KAM role will manage chains with 70 outlets or less. The position is intended to prepare and develop key account managers for a Regional Account manager role overseeing larger customer bases.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell and execute company strategy and initiatives for regional and local chains within an assigned territory
- Influence execution of programs via decision maker within chain
- Ownership of volume targets, spending budgets and overall results within assigned territory
- Conduct sales negotiations with key accounts. Sets up schedules and appointments to obtain new accounts and to service existing accounts.
- Ensure area compliance on national corporate mandated and optional programs
- Ensure local market/region pricing is in line with national pricing standards
- Work with Field Sales Organization to ensure In-store standards
- Direct contact to local/regional account teams within distributor to set strategy and sales expectations
- Responsible for building and owning relationships through select management within wholesaler network, sharing key contact responsibilities for company communication
- Plans for sales activities by forecasting conditions, defining objectives and strategies and securing resources.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- 2+ years’ management experience in non-alcoholic beverage industry preferred
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach
- Existing knowledge of regional off premise chains within assigned territory
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be organized with the ability to work both independently and within team environment.
- Must be adaptive to change within organization and industry
- Must be willing to travel to meet with assigned customers
- Results oriented, innovative, strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Display integrity, character, and strong leadership skills.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

- This position requires a clean driving record and authorization to obtain your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) upon receiving and accepting a job offer.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license.
