Las Vegas Petroleum is a growing operator of gas stations, convenience stores, and travel centers across the country. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely payment to our employees.

We are seeking an Entry-Level Payroll Specialist with 2-3 years of payroll experience to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in processing payroll across multiple divisions and facilities, primarily using Paychex. This position requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with payroll procedures, and the ability to handle payroll tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll for multiple locations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll distribution.
  • Data Entry: Enter payroll data into Paychex, verifying information for accuracy and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Employee Inquiries: Address payroll-related questions and issues from employees in a professional and timely manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized payroll records and support documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll procedures are compliant with federal and state labor laws and company policies.
  • Reporting: Assist with generating payroll reports for management review and internal analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the payroll team to identify and implement improvements to payroll processes.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2-3 years of payroll experience, preferably with Paychex.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with payroll software (Paychex experience required) and familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and impecable attention to detail in all payroll tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to address employee inquiries and coordinate with other departments.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage and maintain payroll records efficiently.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
