We work in small teams where each person is able to impact the technical direction of the project. Here are some examples of solutions we develop:
- Real-time geospatial visualization of spectrum, including command and control of integrated platforms/sensors.
- Tools to collect, process, exploit, and disseminate large amounts of telemetry and sensor data.
- Immersive 3D scenario modeling desktop application for planning, analysis, and training.
- Algorithms and automation for mission planning and analysis of electronic attack platforms and equipment.
As a Senior Java Software Engineer at CTI, you will be exposed to a range of technologies and have opportunities to support a variety of unique projects across desktop and distributed computing environments supporting Electronic Warfare Modeling.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Architect, design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and/or applications.
- Participate as a primary voice in code reviews, constructively guiding/mentoring more junior developers.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
- Proactively and constructively advocate for improvement on behalf of the organization, your team, and yourself.
- Work with customers and users to understand requirements.
- Translate requirements into actionable technical specifications.

This is position is required to be onsite up to 20% of the time at Nellis AFB located in Las Vegas, NV. (Not eligible for relocation assistance).
Requirements
Necessary skills and experience
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Production level experience in Java (C# or similar Object-Oriented languages acceptable).
- Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Experience driving technical decisions, including the ability to break down problems, identity solutions and communicate the process and conclusions. to an engineering team or senior leadership.
- Experience architecting software and distributed infrastructure, including documentation throughout all phases of design used to convey concepts to leadership, the team(s) implementing the design, and for final documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- The ability to obtain a US security clearance post start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Beneficial skills and experience
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing, integration, build, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases.
- Solid understanding of computer systems and networks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Microservices and/or distributed computing development experience.
- Front end development experience with Java Swing, JavaFX, RESTful API design.
- Experience with NASA World Wind Java, ATAK, Protocol Buffers, Avro, OpenGL/OpenCL, and/or CUDA.
- Experience with other simulation environments and GIS tools such as STK, SimDIS, Vega Prime, Cesium, Flight Simulations, FalconView, JMPS, IMOM, ANGEL, MACE, ArcGIS, NGTS, OneSAF, or JSAF.
- Familiarity with WGS-84 modeling, world geocentric, and geodetic mathematics.
- Familiarity with DTED and other terrain modeling data formats.
- Familiarity with DAFIF, NAVAIDs, AIS, Link-16, IBS and other tracking, position, and navigational formats.
- Familiarity with EWIR, EWDS, MIDB, and/or other relevant intelligence databases.
- Familiarity with distributed simulation models such as DIS, TENA, or HLA.
- Foundational knowledge of Electromagnetic Warfare (EW), Electronic Attack (EA) and related platforms and capabilities.
- Game Engine experience such as Unity3D, Unreal Engine, or O3DE.
- Former Military or Intelligence Community (IC) in fields related to RF, EW, SIGINT/ELINT, or Strike.
- Knowledge of Military Radar, Jammer, and Weapon technologies.
