Full Job Description
The Quality Document Specialist – Supply Chain provides support to the Quality Department and Quality Director by employing established company procedures and practices which ensure the quality of products in accordance with food safety standards. Quality Document Specialist works with suppliers to gather Quality documents related to incoming products and purchases, maintains documents, coordinates testing, and works with purchasing to communicate status of approval. The Quality Manager assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Quality Document Specialist and may assign duties to trained Quality staff.
· Follows company policies/programs on food safety, food quality, and good manufacturing practices.
· Communicate with suppliers to gather documents related to supplier approval and annual supplier review.
· Maintains all supplier qualification and certification documents.
· Coordinates testing and evaluation of pre shipment samples and communicates Quality approval/rejection for purchase of materials.
· Performs annual risk assessments on suppliers based on Quality performance.
· Maintains all quality documents related to incoming shipments.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering effective communication, and promoting a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and qualify potential new suppliers, ensuring their capabilities meet quality requirements.
· Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulations related to supplier quality management and incorporate them into the company’s processes and procedures.
· Performs additional duties as needed.
Requirements
· Experience working in the Quality department, 2 years is desirable.
· Experience working in food manufacturing facility, 2 years preferably.
· Demonstrates aptitude for problem-solving and is result-oriented
· Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Perform basic math functions: add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages, fractions
· Computer literate using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willing to learn other programs necessary to job duties
· Work in a fast-paced team environment with the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
· Must have attention to detail, be motivated, accurate, and able to detect and deal with discrepancies
