Do you have a passion for helping others? Love collecting facts and interviewing others? Have an eye for detail? Join ROC as a Surgery Screener! This position will remain posted until filled.
You would talk to patients about their health and other details to determine if their surgery can be done at ROC. We want our patients to get back to moving the way they want to be moving and if they need surgery, we need to know where we should schedule it. Put on your sleuthing hat and get to work! ROC is expanding with two more operating suites opening the beginning of 2025 as we welcome seven new surgeons to our team. Join our team to be part of the growth and excitement!
What would you do as a Surgery Screener?
The Surgery Screener is responsible for conducting screening questionnaires to assess whether a patient is a good candidate for surgery in our facility. You can expect to regularly:
- Conduct pre-admit screenings both in person and over the phone, going through surgery questionnaire, and following up on medical clearances and labs to assess their suitability to have surgery at Reno Orthopedic Surgery Center;
- Communicate with patients by answering a multi-line phone system and via electronic mail as required to resolve questions and issues;
- Provide accurate, detailed information to patients regarding surgical time, test preparations, scheduled arrival time, and any other directional information needed;
- Update medications and allergies in the patient’s electronic medical charts;
- Assist surgery schedulers as needed with reviewing physician surgery schedules, calling patients and offering tentative surgery dates.
Requirements
- Certifications/Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of;
- Customer services principles and practices;
- Experience
- Using computer systems and applications, including entering data and typing
Preferred Qualifications - How can you set yourself apart from other applicants?
- Experience working in a medical office.
