Full Job Description
Partially or completely assembles electromechanical products such as handling devices, robotics, and mechanical assemblies to meet drawing specifications with supervision. This position will also assist with loading and unloading large crates of product. This role would primary be based at our Manchester NH facility and requiring occasional travel to our Nashua NH facility.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Utilizes basic assembly techniques to assemble components correctly.
- Uses hand tools, powered drivers, torque wrenches, and other basic hand tools.
- Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners as required by drawing specifications.
- Ability to recognize potential quality deficiencies in assemblies and notifies department lead of such concerns.
- Assisting the plant with shipping and receiving activities.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for creating a professional, safe, and clean environment evidenced by: being at work on time to perform assigned duties, following the policies of Granite State Manufacturing, always wearing safety glasses in designated areas, maintaining a neat and orderly work area, and following safety practices to prevent errors.
- Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by establishing effective relationships and networks with both managers and co-workers, and collaborating with them to accomplish shared purposes and goals.
- Abides by GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards and strictly observes all U.S. and foreign laws and regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), <3 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches and written instructions.
- Ability to work in a small autonomous group. Ability to stay focused.
- Ability to load large components +/-50 lbs. into crates with assistance, safely and efficiently.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Past experience operating Fork Lifts is preferred, will train the right candidate
- An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control; remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things. Ability to communicate effectively.
- GSM is a government contractor and US Citizenship/Permanent Resident status is required in most cases.
