About the Role
The Assistant Manager In Room Dining assists the Manager In Room Dining in overseeing the day-to-day management of the In Room Dining operation.
Position Responsibilities
- Assists IRD Manager in overall operation of n-Room Dining as well as coordination with other supporting departments
- Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of food, beverages and amenities to our guest rooms.
- Monitors service levels through customer interaction and customer survey scores
- Works with supervisors to ensure stations, service carts, and trays are cleaned, stocked and organized.
- Assists in ensuring that service is carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Trains and evaluates all In Room Dining personnel and enforces food and beverage policies and procedures
- Facilitates communication between various hotel and casino departments to ensure courteous and prompt service
- Ensures sanitation compliance throughout In Room Dining
- Handles customer complaints
- Responsible for assisting with scheduling and ordering to meet budget
- Works with Culinary department to create, program (POS) and institute new IRD menus and specialty menus
- Assists in proper training of supervisory staff of CBA
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment.
- Shift assignments may be irregular, and will cover days, nights, weekends and holidays
- The ability to handle all types of guest related situations
- The ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat and grasp
- Must be able to walk and stand for entire shift
- The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Must have ability to sit and work from a computer for extended periods
- Must have the manual dexterity to allow for inputting of data into computer software and be capable viewing computer monitors for extended periods of time
- Must be able to read “fine print” areas of invoices and contracts
- Must be able lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs
What’s Required
- BS Degree and three + years’ supervisory experience in Room Service and/or full service restaurants is preferred
- The ability to effectively communicate in English
