Dougherty Law Offices, a prestigious law firm specializing in civil litigation, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our team. As an Associate Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced attorneys and assist in a variety of legal matters.
In this role, you will have the chance to gain invaluable experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, preparing for trial, and appearing in court. You will also have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases, representing clients in various industries.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting legal research and drafting legal documents such as motions, briefs, and contracts.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and handle all aspects of pre-trial preparation.
- Appear in court on behalf of clients, presenting arguments and advocating for their best interests.
- Communicate with clients, keeping them informed of case progress and advising them on legal options.
- Assist in negotiating settlements to resolve legal disputes, ensuring the best possible outcome for clients.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, ensuring all necessary documentation is filed in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and legal precedents that may impact ongoing cases.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
- Proficiency in relevant legal software and research tools.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
