Samsung SDS recently launched a customizable enterprise platform; the Samsung Cloud Platform offering cloud services optimized for the various business needs of corporate customers who demand security, safety, and availability within IT operations.
Samsung SDS America is looking for a Business Development Director, Cloud Strategy & Planning with a unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise. The successful candidate should be capable of driving engagement to customers by understanding their technology roadmap, industry requirements and business needs while collaborating effectively with internal teams to provide the right offerings to our customers.
This position will be responsible to lead efforts across our Cloud Strategy & Planning Team. You will be responsible for identify growth opportunities in the cloud market, develop go-to-market strategies for new Samsung SDSA cloud offerings and partnerships.
This role is based in our regional headquarters in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Team works on a hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home. This role requires up to 25% business traveling within US, 5% international business travel.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the Go-To-Market Strategy for cloud offerings with internal and external customers, encompassing both sales and technical strategies
- Define target market segments, customer profiles, and industry verticals to focus on
- Develop and maintain an understanding of customers, competitors and markets. Identify target customers where Samsung SDSA’s technical capabilities represent a fit and where Samsung SDSA can realize significant value
- Develop a strategic business development plan tailored to the target markets, ensuring alignment with our overall strategic direction
- Develop new market offers that expand our customers cloud footprint
- Implement the strategic business development plan in collaboration with key internal stakeholders, fostering cross-functional teamwork
- Understand the technical requirements and needs of our customers, working closely with internal development teams to steer the direction of our product offerings
- Cultivate a robust pipeline of customers engaged in key market areas, actively supporting them in building innovative solutions. Strive to transform these customers into success stories that highlight our solutions
- Lead, inspire and mentor team members across our Cloud Division
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Cloud / Infrastructure services
- 8+ years of experience in technical consulting, consultative technical sales, business consulting, practice development roles or a related combination of technical and sales expertise
- Proven track record of achievements and developing relationships with C-Level at various organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience and deep knowledge of cloud ecosystem, markets, competitors and user requirements
- Experience developing and deploying services on a private/public cloud platform or infrastructure
- Ability working in a start-up environment, as well as experience in corporation
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to evolve product strategy based on experience, research, data and industry trends
- Demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas in a simple and understandable manner
- Bachelor's degree required
- Business traveling up to ~25%
- Work from the office on a hybrid schedule according to company policy
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
