As a Data Specialist you will be highly skilled in data management and data management software, motivated, and have a desire to use these skills to help change people’s lives for the better. This work will lead to data management cross-functionally leading and supporting projects, with other data teams across the organization, building systems and transferring existing excel based datasets into new dynamic software. You will lead the automation of everyday program data tasks and processes, including the implementation, tracking, and report out of automated messaging to communicate with neighbors in need.
What you’ll do in your role:
- Use and daily maintenance of multiple platforms to track and analyze data according to specific program deliverables, including Excel, Power Pivot, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Focus on data hygiene and auditing to ensure accurate reporting, including reviewing data across dashboards, platforms, and applications for accuracy and conducting any necessary data clean-ups.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual data reports and maintain and develop data dashboards, visualizations, and summary tables.
- Work with managers as a thought partner to continually develop and refine data processes, with the goal of improving program operational efficiencies and measuring programmatic impact.
- Respond to regular requests for data from other programs and departments, including Development, grantors, and the Board of Directors.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in data management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and 1 to 3 years of experience working in data driven positions with proven ability to utilize data for reporting and storytelling, non-profit and fundraising preferred
- Familiarity with creating, updating, auditing, and reporting data in a database environment
- Experience working with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Forms
- Experience in one or more of the following Ceres, Power Automate, Power BI, Tableau, Oasis, Survey Monkey Apply or similar
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload, be detail-oriented and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
