The Community Foodbank of New Jersey is looking for a Development Associate to join our Resource Development efforts. In this role, you will support the Donor Engagement team in all aspects of stewarding our major donors while maintaining ownership of the team's database functions.
What you’ll do in your role:
Database and Digital Records (40%)
- Become a Salesforce “Super User” serving as key point person for the Donor Engagement team and liaison to Donor Services.
- Manage overall data hygiene and filing in both Salesforce and Microsoft SharePoint reports and files
- Generate and analyze reports
- Pull report for gifts received by non-responsive donors
- Ensure that all touchpoints and appeals are accurately logged in Salesforce to maintain a comprehensive record of donor engagement
- Support Gift tracking and data entry
Donor Engagement (40%)
- Work closely with individual Donor Engagement team members to cultivate, steward, thank, and solicit both Mid-level and Major gift donors
- Manage qualification process for all new Major Donors
- Produce personalized acknowledgements for individuals, family foundations, special events, and VIP/Board of Directors
- Review and rewrite gift acknowledgment templates quarterly
- Coordinate stewardship cards for $500+ donors
- Support Planned Giving and Real Estate Advisory Council
Administrative Support (20%)
- Address specific administrative tasks and ad hoc special projects as required
- Write and update SOPs for internal processes to enhance organizational efficiency
- Assist in execution of bi-annual mailed appeals
- Provide support for cultivation and signature events

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- A bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of work experience in a fundraising environment preferred or 9 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.
- Experience in using Salesforce preferred
- Commitment to data integrity.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to prioritize
- Comfort managing up to ensure team members complete tasks.
