Miller Transportation Group is a mid-size, rapidly growing leader in the transportation industry that has been family-owned since 1912. The company's several business units operate as follows:

  • Miller Truck Leasing - Provides full-service leasing, finance leasing, truck rental, and truck maintenance programs. Miller Truck Leasing is the largest privately-held truck leasing company on the East Coast.
  • Miller Dealerships - Provides car and light truck solutions across the Ford, Lincoln, and Subaru brands.
  • Miller Dedicated Services - Supports customers in outsourcing their transportation needs by providing vehicles, drivers, fuel, insurance, and overall industry expertise.
  • Miller Brokerage Services - Provides on-demand capacity solutions through our network of reliable carriers.

Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources will oversee the functional operations of HR, including employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, compensation, training, onboarding, payroll, and compliance. This leadership position will achieve company goals for all Miller business units by operating at a strategic and tactical level.

Requirements

You will:

  • Develop, plan, and lead all HR activities.
  • Advise senior leaders on solutions for human resources challenges and other organizational needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state employment regulations.
  • Facilitate processes and regularly report on key HR metrics.
  • Oversee the employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Lead the communication and administration of the company's health and welfare benefits programs; evaluate the current programs to ensure competitiveness with other organizations.
  • Collaborate with managers and leaders to assess training and development needs; oversee the relationship with vendors on outside training programs.

You have:

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Human Resource Management.
  • Experience with field personnel, ideally in the transportation, distribution, warehousing, or similar industries preferred.
  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A creative mind with the ability to think beyond the needs of HR.
  • High integrity and a growth mindset.
  • Outstanding teamwork and interpersonal skills.
