Talent Vision, a leading Staffing and Consulting Firm, is excited to partner with a vibrant charter school based in Trenton, NJ, to fill the position of English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher. As an ELA Teacher, you will play an essential role in developing students' reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Your innovative teaching methods and enthusiasm for literature will create a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to express themselves effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans that focus on reading comprehension, writing, and language skills tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Instruct students in literary analysis, writing techniques, and effective communication strategies.
- Utilize a variety of resources, including literature, media, and technology, to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
- Foster a love of reading by introducing diverse texts and facilitating discussions that enhance students' appreciation of literature.
- Assess student learning through formal and informal assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Incorporate vocabulary development and grammar instruction into lessons to strengthen students' language abilities.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Support students in developing essential skills for effective writing, such as organization, clarity, and style.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on current trends in education.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, assessments, and progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts for middle or high school is required.
- Prior teaching experience in ELA or related subjects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of literary elements, writing conventions, and language skills.
- Passion for literature and a commitment to fostering a love of reading in students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
