Full Job Description

Position Overview:

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be a critical part of our estimating team, responsible for developing accurate and competitive bids for a range of electrical projects. This role requires a solid understanding of electrical systems, cost estimation, and project management. You will work closely with the senior estimator, project managers, and clients to ensure that estimates are precise and align with project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate electrical cost estimates for commercial, mixed use, and industrial projects.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work, materials, and labor requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information and ensure all estimates are comprehensive.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and competitiveness.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities (VE) and alternative solutions to optimize project budgets.
  • Maintain and update a database of unit costs, material prices, and other relevant estimating data.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews to provide insights and support the successful transition of estimates to the project execution phase.
  • Assist in developing and improving estimating processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Engage & maintain a positive working relationship with vendors, suppliers, and potential customers

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical estimating, with a strong background in residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects. (** Entry position also available for the right candidate, with less experience**)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with McCormick or other estimating software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards is a plus.
