About the Role
The Fire Command Officer is responsible for the operation of the life safety system and its peripheral devices, involving all field related devices and other trade interconnected systems.
Position Responsibilities
· Test procedures of such systems to the satisfaction of local code authorities
·Operation of the security alarm system
·Immediately alert and dispatch security to any alarm or system malfunction so incident can be investigated
·Responsible for all support documentation including daily incident reports, test results relating to the security alarm system and life safety systems
·Responsible for the property through security cameras. Responsible for all support documentation including daily incident reports relating to incidents and suspicious activity observed on the security cameras
·Responsible for enforcing Ocean Casino Resort rules against team members and other persons, to protect property
·Prepare a detailed summary log of every call throughout the shift
·Responsible for recording of all security camera coverage and proper use/storage of recording tapes and devices
·If assigned to patrol, respond to all emergencies, i.e., fire alarms, medical aid, criminal, etc. to give necessary assistance. Running up a fire escape, assist in evacuating guests, attempting to revive a guest utilizing CPR and pursuing suspects who have committed a crime on our property
·Complete daily fire inspection rounds to check stairwells, fire equipment and reports same to security management
·Maintain interaction with all Departments, employees, and customers to ensure a favorable line of communication. Interacts with senior management, security, and fire Departments as they relate to life, fire, and property emergencies
·Complies with all New Jersey regulatory requirements
·Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Requirements
·High school diploma or equivalent required with previous experience working in Fire Command and/or Security
·Knowledgeable in the operation of life safety systems, alarm systems, evacuation procedures, camera equipment and those methods of operation and recording as required
·Ability to effectively communicate in English
·Must have the organizational ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
·Basic arithmetic skills required which include adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying
·Must be proficient in report writing and typing
·The ability to successfully complete the Fire Command skills test.
