As a Food Sourcing Coordinator, you will assist in identifying lapsed food donors and coordinating methods of activating these donors. You will travel to current and potential food donor sites to establish and maintain donor relationships and spread awareness of CFBNJ’s mission.
What you’ll do in your role:
- Regularly travel throughout an assigned geographical area in New Jersey to visit potential donors (mainly retail stores), to promote CFBNJ’s mission, and assist in identifying food donation opportunities.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the food industry and position the Community Food Bank of NJ as the partner of choice as a solution to surplus food.
- Recruit and manage food donors, including daily visits to current and potential donors to explain donation process, benefits and opportunities, and track and report progress on results.
- Schedule donor visits and maintain accurate records and acknowledgements.
- Develop effective approaches for recognizing donors with documents, certificates, etc.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- At least two years of experience providing customer service or working in a sales environment
- Basic proficiency of Microsoft Word, Outlook software, and Excel for data entry and tracking
- Background in coordinating across multiple teams is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of professionalism
- Ability to work well in a team and learn new concepts
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Must have personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel to various sites is required
