CS Energy is looking for a Manager of Accounting & Reporting to report to our CFO. This position is based in our headquarters in Edison, NJ. The role is hybrid with 3 days in the office and the rest based remotely. In this position you work closely with upper management, while getting visibility into how a fast-growing PE-backed business operates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager of Accounting and Reporting is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting and reporting within the organization. This role requires strong leadership skills, financial expertise, and attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and laws. Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary updates to accounting policies and procedures.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Implement and monitor controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and performance excellence. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the accounting team.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and optimize financial performance. Interpret financial data and communicate insights to senior management.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and facilitate external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Ensure audit readiness and assist in resolving audit findings.
- Process Improvement: Continuously assess and streamline accounting processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify opportunities for automation and implementation of accounting software solutions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between finance/accounting and other departments, providing financial information and analysis to support cross-functional initiatives. Communicate financial results and insights to senior management and other stakeholders.
The Manager of Accounting and Reporting plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting processes. This position offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team and contribute to the financial success of the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in accounting, with 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
