Move For Hunger’s Multifamily program is growing rapidly and we need an experienced fundraising professional to help us increase the number of property management companies joining our cause. With some of the nation’s leading property management companies already participating (Cortland, FPI, Bell, Trinity, EQR, Greystar), your role will be to quickly expand Move For Hunger’s network of 2,000+ properties (400k units) while growing relationships with the leading apartment associations & suppliers in the space. Primary account management for the multifamily associations and suppliers encompassing the western half of the US.

With many companies and investors continuing to focus on ESG and Sustainability efforts, Move For Hunger provides an easy way for the Multifamily industry to reduce food waste and fight hunger. The ideal candidate is a sales professional who has experience and relationships within the multifamily industry and a desire to put their skills to purpose.

We seek a candidate with a proven track record in sales, bonus if you are experienced with cause engagement, corporate and partnership relationship management, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. The ideal candidate will have multifamily association experience, specifically in association membership recruitment and retention, association management, supplier network management, or multifamily network engagement. We are looking for an innovative thinker with an ambitious attitude, committed to growing with our organization and passionate about creating sustainable solutions to food waste and hunger. The Multifamily Partnership Manager will design and execute a comprehensive cause engagement, fundraising, and development strategy, including presentation and pitch activities, account management, sponsorship sales, and partnership engagement. Ultimately, this role will drive revenue growth for our organization.

Business Development:

  • Analyze and build a pipeline of qualified leads for potential members of the Multi-Family program with a focus on growing relationships with property management companies, associations, and suppliers. Including researching and establishing new business opportunities with targeted accounts through networking, qualifying, and closing techniques. 
  • Proactively prospect and present new prospective corporate funding opportunities in the multifamily industry;
  • Partner with internal teams on program development, pitch, and management of special programmatic funds and bold, multi-funder initiatives, including event sponsorships and annual giving campaigns;
  • Pitch sponsorships for national and regional campaigns while working to develop new & creative opportunities for sponsorship;
  • Prepare, analyze, interpret, and create fundraising and donor reports as needed.
  • Represent Move For Hunger at regional and national industry conferences, as well as in virtual gatherings, 25-35% of the time. This position is expected to spend time on the road at conferences and various meetings with partners and members.

Corporate Philanthropy Relationship Management:

  • Support organization initiatives in vital corporate partnerships, including joining key conversations, documenting outcomes, managing next steps, and updating records in Salesforce;
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers at corporate partners;
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with property, regional managers, property owners management groups as well as industry associations.
  • Quickly respond to inbound, unsolicited prospect calls/leads and convert them into enrolled properties and portfolios.
  • Cultivate, steward, and solicit to renew and increase support over time;
  • Coordinate partner events, webinars, and other joint activities to increase brand visibility and generate leads.

General:

  • Maintain Accounts by inputting data for prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and follow-ups in Salesforce and Asana. In concert with the Development Manager; draft, edit, finalize, and submit, proposals, and reports.
  • Represent Move For Hunger at Trade Association & Partner Events, presenting an award, speaking as a panelist, working a booth in an exhibit hall, networking with potential and current partners, leading team building activations, and fundraising;
  • Staying current on consumer trends, cause marketing, digital and corporate sponsorships to foster Move For Hunger buying influence packets, including budgets and purchasing criteria for partners, sponsors, and corporate donation programs;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create and drive strategy and activities that meet our annual corporate, partner, and sponsorship fundraising goals;
  • Build collaborative working relationships including liaising with the Programs and Marketing teams, as needed, to receive inputs for member/partner facing materials
  • Like all members of the Development, Marketing & Programs team, be prepared to serve as a “generalist” and pitch in on projects and initiatives as needed;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit business development with a track record of achieving 6 figure deals, as well as creating win-win corporate partnerships;
  • Demonstrated sales and performance record from cultivation to closing; or 2+ years of experience as part of a broad-based development team, ideally with experience in membership, annual fund, events, development, and major/large gifts, sponsorships, partnerships stewardship, or similar outbound sales experience;
  • Experience with Matching Gifts, CSR, Corporate Giving, and Employee Engagement, Corporate Partnerships, bonus;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite; we use Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneDrive, and Sharepoint. Experience with Slack & Salesforce / CRM, a plus;
  • Experience with Trade Associations, Managing and Engaging with Conference Exhibitors, and Suppliers, a plus.
  • Experienced Non-Profit Professional. Non-Profit experience with a CNP/ACNP, or CFRE, encouraged.

Working Conditions:

  • The typical work environment is Remote/Work From Home Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time, but can vary based on the needs of the organization and may occasionally include evenings and weekends;
  • Regularly work indoors, with occasional requirements for outdoor work;
  • May, on occasion, be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment, event audio sound equipment, etc.;
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer;
  • Occasional prolonged periods of standing while traveling and attending conferences, trade shows, and various Move For Hunger events and meetings;
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and infrequently up to 50 pounds.
