Full Job Description
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all enrolled children during all activities.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum, including arts and crafts, group time, science, indoor and outdoor games, and more.
- Provide support and guidance to children in completing their homework assignments.
- Foster positive character traits such as respect, responsibility, and empathy through structured activities and discussions.
- Plan and conduct enrichment activities that promote creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain appropriate standards for children’s discipline and behavior using non-punitive methods.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with classroom teachers, program co-workers, families, and other staff members.
- Attend staff meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Assist in maintaining and providing periodic testing of emergency response plans.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 credits of Early Childhood Education college coursework. A teaching credential, or BA is preferred.
- At least 6 months full-time or one-year part-time experience working with children in a licensed child care center or elementary school.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
