About the Role
The Shift Manager Security is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Security Department on an assigned shift to maintain a safe and secure environment for our customers, team members and Company Assets.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan and schedule security activities for the Security Shift Supervisors as directed by management
- Assign work to Security Supervisors, Security personnel and establish priorities
- Respond to all non-routine incidents in a management capacity ensuring appropriate action is taken and notifications are made
- Review and evaluate security reports for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure all incidents are thoroughly investigated and appropriate action is taken and proper notifications are made
- Responsible for training all security personnel on shift
- Acts in relation to employees, customers and/or the general public in a manner consistent with the best interests of the organization
- Assists in establishing, administering and evaluating Department policies and objectives, including standards of performance
- Conduct follow-up investigations on reports as directed
- Assure that Casino Control Commission regulations and requirements are met and followed by all Security personnel
- In the event of a life-threatening fire, shooting, flood or other disaster, the Manager will coordinate the emergency activities including notification of police, fire, VP Security, Senior Vice President and or GENERAL MANAGER (CEO) until the arrival of the responsible fire/police department or executive
- Complies with all New Jersey regulatory requirements
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Requires acute sense of smell and sound, ability to talk on and hear a two-way radio and telephone
- Visual Acuity correctable to 20/20, normal color, peripheral and night vision
- Tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino/Hotel areas
- Must be able to work under adverse conditions, including overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays and testify in court on and off duty
- Contact with team members and customers
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Four (4) years’ experience in casino security or law enforcement field in a supervisory position
- Advanced customer service and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to speak, read and write in English
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient at investigating incidents and report writing
- Computer related experience required
- Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license
