As a Senior Nutrition Educator, you will be responsible for coordinating the planning, delivery and reporting of a grant funded nutrition education program (SNAP-Ed) in an assigned service area. You are a great fit for this role if you can effectively plan and manage projects of various scales, directly supervise staff, and effectively plan and present lessons on nutrition and health promotion to a wide variety of target audiences. You will be traveling 70% of the week to different sites and locations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and oversight for Nutrition Educators and/or Community Health Workers, ensuring effective capacity development, as well as goal achievement.
- Participate and assist in the planning of team/ regional/ SNAP-Ed all-staff trainings as requested.
What you’ll do in your role:
- Assist in developing, planning, and implementing nutrition education and related activities for multiple programs, including Direct Nutrition Education interventions and Policy, Systems & Environmental Change interventions targeting youth, adults and seniors.
- Support health promotion efforts to target audiences that promote physical activity, healthy food choices, engaging in a healthy lifestyle on a budget, and decreasing the risk of nutrition related chronic disease.
- Partner with the Program Manager to plan, organize, and execute various projects including capacity building training, process development, partnership development, data management, etc.

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science/Dietetics or related field along with two years of experience providing nutrition and physical activity education in diverse community settings or 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
- Willingness to travel 70% per week.
- Experience providing supervision and leadership to a team is required.
- Positive, can-do thinker with excellent communication, public speaking, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a high degree of self-motivation.
- Proficient in Office365, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bi-lingual language skills (English and Spanish/Creole/Bengali) is a plus.
- A personal vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible hours; this position will have a varied work schedule that includes nights and weekends to meet the scheduling needs of partnering organizations and schools.
