Our multi-discipline engineering consulting firm, located in Sparta, NJ, is seeking a full time Staff Engineer for our Civil and Municipal Department. CP Engineers has forty years of experience in site/civil, water/wastewater, municipal, MEP, and environmental services. Our project portfolio includes private, municipal, county, and regional clients; some have been with our firm for three decades.

Job Description
- Perform technical and feasibility studies, including analyzing maps, survey reports, plans and related data to create and design engineering projects.
- Prepare models, technical reports, preliminary/detailed design documents, engineering specifications, and perform calculations in support of engineering activities.
- Determine construction costs, review local, county and state ordinances & regulations, assess environmental constraints and other factors that can affect project implementation.
- Collaborate with senior staff to solve problems and assist in managing projects.
- Conduct field investigations to identify project needs and to perform construction inspections.
- Assist in the preparation of contract documents suitable for bidding.
- Assist in ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality control standards are achieved and maintained.

Requirements

- Willingness to develop competence in a broad array of engineering related tasks.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and able to successfully multitask.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
- 0-2+ years of engineering experience in the consulting field.
- Exposure and basic knowledge of specialized design software, particularly AutoCAD Civil 3D. Additionally, a familiarity with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, ArcGIS and MS Project.
- High productivity, attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work well in a dynamic team environment.
- Valid driver’s license with dependable transportation.
