About the Role
The Steward Supervisor is responsible for sustaining and improving cleanliness and sanitation with knowledge of proper usage and maintenance of all equipment.
Position Responsibilities
- Creates and ensures a fresh, positive and exciting environment where sanitation, flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount
- Conduct on-the-job training programs for all Department personnel
- Attend and schedule meetings when required
- Acquired knowledge of sanitation according to State and Federal guidelines
- Work efficiently and accurately in operating mode
- Interact and maintain an effective working liaison with all Departments
- Thorough knowledge of safety and OSHA guidelines
- Develop production schedule, pars according to outlets projections
- Assist in coordinating all steward personnel; assist in all accurate record and log maintenance
- Maintain a positive work environment
- Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility
- Inspect equipment and assure PM is in effect
Essential Functions
- Continuous standing/walking for long periods; at times, temperature approximately 55°F
- Periodically pushing and pulling heavy carts and lifting products in proper storage areas
- Ability to work in contrasting hot and cold areas
- Tasting food and evaluating quality points at each stage of preparation
- Required to be detail oriented
- Lift food items sometimes as heavy as 100 lbs.
- Employee must be able to walk short and long distances while carrying 35 lbs.
- Must have good eye/hand coordination
- Work area conditions may vary

- Must withstand pressure and strain of working in close quarters
- Standing for long periods of time
- Temperature may vary between hot and cold
What’s Required
- Candidate must have an associate degree as well as three years of supervisory experience specifically in volume staff supervision, or an equivalent combination of education and or experience
- Knowledge of all related chemical use in Ware washing environment
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and small wares
- Ability to prepare cost report sheets pertaining to usage of related equipment
- Ability to set-up systems and procedures for inventory control
- Acquired knowledge of glassware, china, silverware and linen
- Must be able to read, write and have understanding of English; ability to understand and speak Spanish is helpful
- Must acquire HACCP and Serv Safe certification
- Communicate with end users on quality issues
- Acquired knowledge of computer skills and software applications: Excel, Word, and Stratton Warren
