- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or,
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or,
- Bachelor's degree in Bridge and Tunnel Engineering,
Requirements
- Responsibilities:
- Perform nonlinear analysis for an existing suspension bridge
- Develop a 3D finite element model for an existing long-span suspension bridge based on the design drawings;
- Perform influence line analysis based on the 3D finite element model;
- Writing program code to obtain the global live load pattern for each structural member that that causes the worst load effect on each member;
- Identify the maximum structural response for different live load cases.
- Perform load rating for different types of bridges under the guidance of AASHTO LRFD, AASHTO MBE, and other bridge load rating manuals.
- Calculate the capacity of stiffening truss members and gusset plate of an existing bridge based on AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO MBE;
- Perform load rating for each component based on AASHTO MBE and other bridge load rating manuals.
- Perform structural design for RC structures as per AASHTO, ACI, and etc.
- Calculate the required dimensions and reinforcement for different RC culvert projects based on structural analysis.
- Estimate the quantity and cost of each working item for a railway bridge project based on specification.
- Perform Cost Estimation and perform structural design for RC substructures as per AASHTO, ACI, and etc.
- Calculate the required reinforcement of bridge footing and retaining wall.
- Examine stability of structure against the design specification
- Perform structural stability analysis of an existing bridge pier suffering extensive corrosion.
