About Us:
Toolkit Tutors is a provider of in-school and after-school tutoring services, dedicated to enhancing student learning through a fusion of traditional high-impact tutoring and study skills training.
Job Description:
Pay: $28-30/hr
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Algebra I & Living Environment Tutor to join our team to provide in-person tutoring services to a Brooklyn high school starting this fall. The ideal candidate will work in-person with high school students to prepare them for the Algebra I and Living Environment Regents exams. This role is crucial in helping students build a strong foundation in algebra and Living Environment, setting them up for long-term academic success.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Target launch date of October 16, 2024 running through May 2025
- Schedule of 2 five-hour days each week
- Pay range from $28-$30 per hour depending on prior tutoring experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group tutoring sessions in Algebra and Living Environment to students in grades 9-12
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, including ENL students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching high school math and Living Environment
- Familiarity with the Algebra I and Living Environment New York State Regents exams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with high school students and adapt to their individual learning needs.
