Full Job Description
Our Company: BCI Brands designs, sources, and markets nationally and internationally an extensive range of women's career, casual sportswear, and dresses. Their products are sold through all primary retail distribution levels principally under various trademarks and under private label brand names, such as Ted Baker, Vince Camuto, CeCe, 1.state and Parker.
Role: The Assistant Designer will work closely with the Associate Designer & Sr. Designer on the development of the dress line.
Responsibilities
- The assistant designer will support the associate designer with the design process from initial inspiration to final prototype
- Responsible for market trend research, hand sketching, computer flat sketching, garment specifications.
- Create mood boards, design concepts, presentation boards for meetings, mock-ups, color-ups, inspirational photos
- Review selling with associate designer each week to make sure we are consistently updating reorder bodies.
- Take direction from upper management to help Identify and update best sellers, incorporating new concepts and prints to create a strong brand identity
- Assist in creating tech packs for overseas garment development
- Create design sheets for both development styles, on order styles and style adds.
- Provide suggestions for color ways, fabric, and trim direction.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of design experience
- Very strong hand sketching skills
- Possess working knowledge of garment construction
- Proficient in sketching flats with Adobe Illustrator & procreate
- Solid understanding of Adobe Photoshop
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Self-starter and proactive worker
- Enthusiastic and team-oriented

The salary range for this non-exempt position is $55-60k.
