Full Job Description
Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company is a nearly $4 billion AUM investment manager focused on the energy transition through three core strategies: infrastructure, private equity, and a newly launched real estate vertical. Since our founding in 2011, we have expanded to over 200 employees across offices in New York City, Portland, ME, Denver, CO, and Montpelier, VT.
Investment Strategies
- Infrastructure: Our infrastructure strategy (“GREC I”) develops, owns, and operates approximately 425 renewable energy plants across 35 different states, representing 3.2 gigawatts of generation capacity.
- Private Equity: Our private equity strategy (“GDEV”) is a leader in growth equity investments within the energy transition, managing a portfolio of roughly twenty portfolio companies.
- Real Estate: Our newly launched real estate strategy (“GSR”) is led by two seasoned executives with a combined $40 billion of real estate private equity deal experience. GSR focuses on maximizing the value of grid interconnected real estate with access to outsized power. GSR seeks to acquire and develop properties capable of hosting digital infrastructure, renewable power, and fleet charging infrastructure assets. We are expanding this strategy to include a sustainability-focused real estate credit business in partnership with a to-be-announced leading institutional investor.
Real Estate Associate
We are seeking a Real Estate Associate to support both our real estate equity and debt strategies. This role offers the opportunity to be a key contributor in a collaborative team environment, working on impactful projects within our rapidly expanding real estate business.
