Role Summary: The Director of Residential Services, with the support of the VP of Residential Services is responsible for all aspects of the Residential Program at AHRC Suffolk. They will have oversight of 33 homes and will be tasked with ensuring homes provide a safe environment, efficient operations, program quality, and follow OPWDD compliance and Agency policies.
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversees employee performance evaluations management, and problem resolution.
- Assists with interviews, hiring, training, timesheets, and retention efforts.
- Ensures that all forms, reports, schedules, and other records are created, maintained, and submitted by the requirements and procedures established by the agency.
- Participates in National, State, and local conferences, workshops, and seminars, to keep informed of current requirements, trends, practices, and procedures for residential services for people supported.
- Attends audits, POCA development, and monitoring.
- Identifies and/or evaluates sites for the development of community residential alternatives in Suffolk County.
- Maintains a working relationship with and serves as the contact person between the residential program the DDRO, and external stakeholders.
- Acts as liaison to community resources related to the residential program for implementation of generic services.
- Assists the Vice President with preparing and submitting annual budgets for all residential programs.
- Oversees a team of Assistant Directors with a focus on the aspects of business operations, ensuring adherence to billing, and attendance.
- Collaborates with Directors in support departments of the agency to develop efficient policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Participates in special projects and committees as assigned by the Vice President of Residential Services including but not limited to CQL, Human Rights, and Incident Review committees.
- Handles incident follow-up, implementing services, and dealing with crises.
- Ensures Assistant Director duties are completed when vacancies occur.
SALARY $100,000-$110,000 YEARLY
Requirements
Role Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
· 7+ years of residential experience and 5+ years in a leadership position.
· Current working knowledge of OPWDD regulations; applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
· Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications
· Must be able to display a high level of professionalism and discretion and understand the sensitive nature of confidential employee information with superior emotional intelligence.
· Ability to be on-call 24/7 on a rotating basis.
