Ideally, this role will be based in our New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA offices.
The Director, Strategy will work with Wasserman Music's contemporary focused agents to identify priority clients and develop cohesive strategies around non-touring projects to realize a broad scope of creative possibilities available to each client. As Wasserman Music continues to grow, it is essential we prioritize the unique cultures that drive our business, while also maximizing growth, and capitalizing on non-touring opportunities. The Director will look after the development and growth of the artist non-touring careers in the genre. Their focus will include, but not is limited to:
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prioritize, initiate, & maximize achievable non-touring opportunities.
- Outline, manage, and work towards strategic objectives and goals for priority artists.
- Coordinate “wins” and communicate across agency to increase exposure in genre space.
- Understand culture and relevance of the genre in respective non- touring spaces and act as a conduit between agents and booking departments.
- Identify key artists, managers, labels, promoters, lawyers, and business relationships within the genre and help cultivate strategy for maintaining relationships.
- Serve as a point of contact for non-touring business for priority clients.
- Form alliances with strategic partners within contemporary genre in key areas of business.
- Handle inbound and develop outbound interest in contemporary genre focused non-touring opportunities.
Requirements
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle varied personalities and sensitive situations
- Position requires demonstrated poise, tact and confidentiality
- Work requires excellent attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Base salary: $125,000, plus bonus potential.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each hire.
