Engineering Manager

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced hands on Engineering Manager to lead our development team. The leader will add to our passion for delivering an innovative, world-class product that makes our customers successful and gives them joy along the way. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the product technical directions, managing all product development initiatives, and iterating quickly to solve customer demands.  The leader  has an eye for high quality code, best practices & innovative approaches, and takes pride/ownership of whatever feature, product or codebase they’re working on. In this position, the candidate will work closely with our Head of Product and CTO to deliver on all product initiatives and deliverables.  The role requires hands-on engineering, close collaboration with product, and leadership.

Requirements

Hands on execution and collaboration: 

• Partner closely with Product to apply creative technical solutions to the needs of our customers and prospects 
• Take on the most complex development projects as technical lead and visionary. Partner with individual PMs and Sn. Engineers to ensure there is consistency in approach and direction for technical solutions 
  

Hands on leadership:

• Build and foster a high performing culture through player-coach approach. Work side by side with engineering leads while also giving creating space for autonomy and individual ownership 
• Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent. Inspire and lead the team to extraordinary outcomes through innovation and close cross functional collaboration 

Strategy:

• Become a domain expert in the industry we serve and partner with Product to create maximum value for our customers 
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutioning to guide technical decisions
• Be a strong  and positive influence on testing, code quality, security, scalability, and iterative speed

What You Will Need:

• Player coach mentality 
• Proven experience in a early stage leadership role within a software engineering organization, ideally in B2B vertical SaaS 
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead lean engineering teams with high velocity and quality 
• Strategic thinking and communication skills 
• A commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and high performing engineering culture
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and design principles utilizing cloud native technologies
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, JIRA).
