Engineering Manager, Frontier Data

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Frontier Data team, promoting a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
• Define technical vision and strategy for data engineering projects, aligning with company objectives.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, and storage solutions.
• Drive best practices in software development, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering their professional growth and career advancement.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, continually looking for opportunities to improve data processes and tools.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security protocols throughout all engineering efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related role, including experience in a leadership position.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data visualization tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
