The Opportunity
NationSwell is seeking a highly motivated Event Communications Manager to join our internal Programming & Events team. Our next Event Communications Manager will be responsible for facilitating the planning, execution, completion, and ongoing success of our event email campaigns. The ideal candidate is a creative, technically savvy, proactive, and dedicated individual who can own the operational, tactical, and strategic lifecycle of email communications for our range of events. This role includes content creation, public relations, marketing, and social media engagement to ensure our events captivate, inform, and resonate with our target audience.
The salary for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. This is a remote position that must be performed from the United States.
How you’ll contribute
- Create engaging content across multiple platforms (e.g., website, email campaigns, event programs, press releases, social media posts) to promote events and highlight key speakers and topics; develop and execute integrated communication plans for events, coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with event planning and marketing teams to align communications efforts with overall event goals and branding; work with NationSwell Insights, Editorial, and Marketing teams for necessary email content and manage stakeholder approval.
- Prepare, schedule, and send internal and external event communications, including registration pages, event briefs, invitations, reminders, pre-event emails, resources, and follow-up emails; draft and manage event copy from templates.
- Analyze the effectiveness of event communications strategies and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support client service regarding event participation and engagement; manage our forward facing [email protected] inbox, replying to members, partners, and prospects and/or sharing with appropriate internal parties.
- Prepare and organize all written event materials, such as participant guides, lookbooks, and bio sheets, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible to the team internally and to the audience externally as appropriate.
- Analyze email metrics to identify trends and insights, and provide data-driven recommendations for future event email campaigns
- Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in event communications.
- Monitor inboxes and social media channels during events to engage with attendees, amplify key moments, and manage any communications issues that arise
- Manage media relations, including media invites, press kits, and facilitating interviews with event speakers and organizers
- Occasional domestic travel and event management support required.

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in communications, email marketing, or a similar role, preferably with experience in event promotion.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a knack for adapting tone and style to different audiences and platforms.
- Proficiency in social media strategy and analytics.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and translate them into effective communication strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across different departments.
- Familiarity with content management systems, email marketing tools, and social media platforms: Cvent, Airtable, Canva, Salesforce, and Mailchimp preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
