CapeZero is seeking an exceptional Financial Modeling Analyst to join our dynamic team. As one of the first team members, you will have the chance to work directly with the founders and play a key role in establishing the company's culture. You will collaborate closely with experts in software engineering, product design, and other financial modelers to build a robust software platform. What you'll do
- Assist with continuous improvement and development of CapeZero's financial models under the guidance of the Director of Modeling Solutions. This includes incorporating feedback from customers regarding new functionalities and market trends.
- Audit customer financial models and conduct variance analysis
- Assist software engineers in their product development by providing guidance to implement changes, additions, or fixes, and to help validate their results.
- Develop innovative data and analytical solutions to enhance the overall customer experience
- Perform industry research and provide support in the creation of thought leadership materials
- Support team members on external consulting & services engagements
- Promote a culture of improvement and learning for oneself and team members
- Develop deep expertise in tax equity, tax credit transferability, and structured finance
Requirements
- You have 1-3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or project finance
- Hold an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline or have equivalent work experience, with an outstanding academic record.
- Demonstrate expertise in financial modeling
- Rate your Excel skills as 8 or above
- Possess an understanding of valuation concepts, including IRR, NPV, after-tax returns, and pre-tax returns
- Show exceptional analytical and quantitative skills
- Are highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to breakdown and explain complex topics
- Are both creative and commercially minded, with the ability to handle multiple work streams and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in the renewable energy sector
- Familiarity with tax equity structures such as partnership flips, sale leasebacks, and inverted leases
- A degree in math, finance, computer science, or engineering
