Full Job Description

The Construction Inspector performs the quality control (QC) function over the contractor’s work as a part of the Company’s quality assurance program and is responsible for the completion of all activities in his area of assignment in accordance with the appropriate Company specifications and the approved-of construction drawings.
Local to Kingston, Poughkeepsie, or Newburgh NY REQUIRED**
The areas of inspection will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Recording Assets installed
- Ensuring adherence to standards
- Documenting fusions
The Inspector acts as a representative of the Company and is expected to establish a professional business relationship with contractors, suppliers, vendors, other stakeholders, and Company personnel. The Inspector provides quality assurance through the inspection of work and materials for conformance to requirements. The Inspector does not direct or supervise the contractor’s work. The Inspector is empowered with Stop Work Authority and is expected to shut down any unsafe work. The Inspector is to complete required documentation (i.e., reports and logbooks) in a timely, concise, and accurate manner. The Inspector receives frequent instruction and direction from his superior and the work of the Inspector is checked on a frequent basis by the Team Lead Inspector or delegate.
Requirements
The specific duties and responsibilities of the inspector are as follows. Planning and organization activities include but are not limited to:
- Taking a proactive approach to safety on the job site by Using the Stop Work Authority as necessary.
- Understanding and following documentation requirements.
- Understanding, monitoring, assessing, and reporting on painting and coating activities and items.
- Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on backfill activities.
- Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on cleanup operations.
- Understanding and using inspector tools for communication and documentation
Qualifications
- 1 year of demonstrated construction inspection experience in areas such as building, utility inspection, pressure testing, welding inspection, tank inspection, coating inspection, pressure, or vessel inspection, Or five years of heavy industry inspection in areas such as road building, mining, logging, or blasting
- Gas inspection experience preferred, not required.
- NGA OQ's Required
- Live locally - New York*
- Strong Communicator
- A degree is not required.
Benefits
$30 - 45 hourly wage
