As a Job Shop Fabrication Estimator you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for job shop fabrication projects. You will work closely with our sales, design, and production teams to assess project requirements, analyze specifications, and develop comprehensive cost estimates. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate cost estimates to sales and project management teams, covering materials, fabrication, finishes, and mounting methods.
- Collaborate with sales, project managers, and engineers to interpret detailed drawings, RFQs, and bid packages, while also taking charge of submitting RFIs directly to customers to clarify project details and specifications,
- Research and source potential suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Evaluate production engineering and timelines to ensure project feasibility.
- Aid in the continuous improvement of our costing processes.
Salary: USD25- USD35/ hour
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in estimating or a comparable role, ideally within a manufacturing or job shop fabrication environment.
- Proven ability to interpret 'design intent' and technical drawings, with a strong capacity for visualizing process steps and materials required.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Preferred Valued Expertise:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the signage industry, including familiarity with sign production techniques, materials, methods, tools, and installation processes, is highly desirable.
