Laundry Service is looking for a sharp, internet-obsessed Jr. Copywriter to join its New York team working on an iconic, culture-obsessed QSR brand. The role will mainly be focused on developing a variety of Creator-focused campaign content ideas for Influencer and Creator channels, sometimes including the brand’s owned social channels, as well as writing copy for social content and client-facing presentations.
Above everything, you’re an amazing writer. But in the internet sense. You’re just as comfortable writing meme captions as you are an inspiring brand manifesto. You’re stickler for the rules when it’s called for but you also when to let go when the idea calls for it. As a social native, you instinctively know the kinds of ideas that will fly in-feed, who the best Creator/Influencer is to bring it to life, and you have a knack for expressing them in ways that clients love – both in decks and in meetings. You know how to think small and nimble, as well as big and bold, and you’re equally happy doing both. You’re comfortable working as part of a small multi-disciplinary team, chipping in wherever needed and no ask is too small or too big for you.
You ask questions, you are curious, you take direction well, and you are open to trying new things. Your day-to-day work will include working with an Art Director, Content Creator and Designer to ideate on Creator-led work, including but not limited to: campaign social content, Creator briefs, big brand ideas, TVC concepts, social playbooks, and trending and reactive content opportunities. You will also have the support of an ACD team and Creative Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Staying up-to-date on the latest social trends and social content formats
- Developing concepts for – but not limited to - Creator-led social content and campaigns, alongside the rest of the Creative team
- Writing and editing copy for social campaigns, taking on everything from social copy to Creator briefs and brand manifestos
- Participating in brainstorms, communicating concepts and take direction / feedback from Creative Director, strategy and account leads
- Working alongside the rest of the creative team to turn creative concepts into compelling presentations that bring the idea to life for clients and internal teams
- Confidently presenting creative ideas to internal stakeholders and clients
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in a similar social-focused role, either in an agency or social publisher
- You must be obsessed with the internet. You know the deep, niche corners of all things social
- You can name an influencer or Creator perfectly-suited for an idea off the top of your head
- Solid, social-first creative thinking
- Experience in bringing concepts to life through compelling creative presentations
- Flawless spelling and grammar
- Demonstrated passion for, and understanding of, social media, Creators and youth culture
- An understanding of brand audience — what they care about and what they share
- Strong presentation skills
- The willingness to collaborate across internal teams, clients and partner agencies
- Commitment to excellence – working nonstandard hours when necessary, anticipating issues and communicating with diplomacy
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Slides and Keynote
