Job Description:
Leong Leong is currently seeking a talented and motivated Designer to join our team in New York City. As a Junior Designer, you will work closely with the Partner and project teams to design, coordinate and document through all phases of projects. Candidates must exhibit strong conceptual, design, communication and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design
- Develop design studies and options through renderings, drawings, models and other media.
- Demonstrate the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions.
- Source materials and conduct research to support the design of projects.
- Presentation
- Support the production of articulate, clear and organized internal presentations to facilitate the decision-making process. Discuss project ideas within your team, and in review settings with Partners.
- Develop visual collateral including graphics, renderings and images for internal and client presentations.
- Documentation
- Support and execute the documentation of the project with support from more senior project team members in collaboration with project leadership.
- Take initiative in seeking guidance with office resources and advisors and/or peers when questions arise.
- Demonstrate a strong proficiency in Rhino for design
- Proficiency in Revit for the production of architectural drawing sets is a plus.
- Coordination
- Incorporate input from the project team including the client, consultant teams and contractor into the design with support from more senior project team members.
- Prepare meeting minutes memorializing critical issues discussed and action items requiring follow-up.
- Team Support / Communication
- Manage and complete tasks that have been delegated to you by your project team, and know when to ask and raise questions.
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritize when given a list of simultaneous time sensitive tasks by both the team and external project team members, properly planning work that needs to be completed against project timelines.
- Support the filing and organization of all project documentation.
- Promptly respond to all forms of internal communication. Check-in and communicate regularly with the project team and leadership.
- Critical thinking
- Be able to identify and analyze problems and develop and implement effective solutions.
- Be able to critically examine information and consider different perspectives, viewpoints, or alternative solutions.
- Be able to reflect and identify what was successful or not during a design process, learning from experience and continuously improving processes.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Architecture or Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum 1+ years of professional experience in an architecture firm
- Proficiency in Rhino and Adobe Software
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD a plus
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to be involved in all aspects of a project from Concept Design through Construction Documentation
- Excellent skills in producing renderings and images.
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with firm leadership and team members.

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 - range is based on received information on local markets; salary will be contingent on relevant experience.
