The Lead Barista is responsible for overseeing daily coffee shop operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high-quality beverage preparation. This role involves leading and training the barista team, managing inventory, and fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and train barista staff on beverage preparation, equipment use, and customer service standards.
- Schedule shifts and manage team performance, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure a welcoming atmosphere for customers, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Engage with customers to enhance their experience and promote new products.
- Beverage Preparation:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, adhering to quality and presentation standards.
- Experiment with new recipes and techniques to keep the menu innovative and exciting.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor product quality and consistency, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Regularly clean and maintain coffee equipment, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist with ordering and managing inventory of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies.
- Conduct regular stock checks and minimize waste through effective inventory practices.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Promote seasonal offerings and upsell menu items to increase sales.
- Participate in marketing initiatives and community events to enhance brand visibility.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a barista, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [weight limit, e.g., 30 lbs].
- Comfortable working in a busy environment with exposure to hot surfaces and equipment.

The base pay range for this position is a salary range of $20.00 - 25.00 per hour. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
