Wasserman is looking for a manager who will be responsible for supporting the development of existing and new products and capabilities across all Wasserman divisions including Next Gen, Brands and Properties, Laundry Service, Cycle, and Music. The candidate is expected to lead data analysis efforts and serve as a research expert to the broader team and organization. Under the guidance of a senior leader, he/she will manage project workstreams from start to finish, serve as a liaison to various stakeholder teams, and create structure in a space that is not yet fully developed. Creatively solving client challenges across the company, the ideal candidate is comfortable working in a dynamic environment that requires them to toggle between various capabilities and expertise as they support a rotating roster of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Custom Audience Research (40%)
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative market research to enhance our understanding of target audiences (e.g. Gen Z, Gen Alpha, high-net-worth) and shape insights into actionable recommendations for reaching and resonating with these consumers.
- Explore and deliver new research alternatives in the quantitative and qualitative spaces (methodologies, vendors, etc.)
- Work in collaboration with Wasserman Next Gen to evolve their custom research capabilities – not limited to but including productization of the annual Gen Z Census.
- Design, execute, and analyze monthly surveys to keep pulse on industry trends and support new business pitches
- Design and oversee building of a dashboard or other deliverable to share results of trend surveys across the organization. Serve as primary point of contact in scaling use across departments and providing training as needed.
- Serve as a team liaison to the Wasserman custom research council – participating in monthly calls and contributing where appropriate – ensure we continue to enhance our capabilities.
Talent Partnerships and Audience Intelligence (40%)
- Analyze audience data across social media, syndicated research databases, broadcast/streaming viewership, and box office sales for Wasserman television and film talent to better understand their global audiences and optimize fan engagement. This includes, but is not limited to, demographics, geography, interests/passion points, social following and engagement, popularity vs. competitors.
- Execute market landscape research and whitespace analyses to identify partnership opportunities for talent
- Ideate partnership platforms for talent inclusive of creative concepts, categories to explore, campaign elements, and brand thought starters. Be able to support all recommendations with data.
- Leverage data to craft compelling partnership and investment stories around our clients to support business pitches.
- Assist with researching and evaluating new data tools to fill knowledge gaps
Artist Growth and Retention Support (10%)
- Support music audience research by analyzing data across social media, streaming platforms, and syndicated research databases for Wasserman music artists to understand their global audience and develop growth strategies (e.g. new markets worth pursuing, partnership ideas, fan engagement avenues).
- Support music agents with other ad-hoc research requests as needed.
General (10%)
- Identify opportunities to support and scale capabilities to other areas of the company via research and data analytics.
- As assigned, assist in business development RFP or RFI responses related to insights spanning the organization.
- Oversee company-wide partnership impact benchmarking Tableau dashboard – updating current version, developing next iteration and gaining adoption by organization.
- Provide regular status updates to team on initiatives you are leading.
- Support additional existing and new team initiatives as the emerge.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree; 2+ years relevant experience in a data analytics or consulting role
- Experience or knowledge of the sports and entertainment, music, film, and marketing industries.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Working knowledge of project management fundamentals
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to cultivate relationships with clients and cross-functional internal teams.
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel for deck development
- Experience with syndicated research tools preferred (e.g., GWI, CrowdTangle, Tubular, Scarborough)
- Ability to drive insights from large datasets, developing storylines and actionable recommendations (e.g. strategic plans, market landscapes, partnership point of view reports).
- Strong communication skills – both writing and presenting
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with natural affinity/appetite for resolving ambiguity
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Curious, creative, innovative – eager to fill knowledge gaps and explore new, data-driven solutions and processes
- High level of initiative and works well independently and in a team environment
Benefits
Base salary range: $68,000-$80,000 plus bonus potential if applicable for role.
Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
