Full Job Description
Position Title: Manufacturing Operator
Location: Hauppauge or Central Islip, New York
Shifts: 1st Shift (07:00 am - 03.30pm) 2nd Shift (03:00 pm - 11:30 pm)
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate pharmaceutical production machinery independently.
- Execute manufacturing procedures according to batch manufacturing records (BMR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Perform machine changeovers, cleaning, and setup as per SOPs.
- Ensure cleanliness and setup of equipment within stipulated time.
- Prepare rooms and equipment for line clearance, including filter replacement and verification of calibration.
- Receive/transmit material to/from dispensing/manufacturing storage and check dispensed materials against BMR.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) before initiating processes.
- Operate applicable equipment independently.
- Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to maintain product specifications.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Complete manufacturing documents accurately and timely.
- Train on relevant SOPs and maintain compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Follow Health & Safety procedures and Equipment Manuals for safe equipment operation.
- Flexible to work extended hours as needed to meet manufacturing schedules.
- Maintain discipline and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by department management/designee.
Requirements
- Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial environments, preferably pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Positive, professional attitude and willingness to cooperate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work with powder containing active pharmaceutical ingredients.
- Heavy lifting/bending frequently.
- Long periods of standing/walking, ability to ascend/descend ladders, and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Capability to move pallets/equipment weighing up to 200 – 300 kgs using suitable moving equipment like pallet jacks.
