Full Job Description
Happier is seeking Pastry Production Cook to assist in the preparation of all production for the property from making of breads, pastries for lunch and dinner service. The role entails performing kitchen duties such as setting up workstations and ingredients; preparing all sub recipes and executing final product for service. Maintains cleanliness in the kitchen by complying with sanitation and nutrition guidelines. The ideal candidate will be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment, and a self-starter who adheres instruction from the Executive Chef / Pastry Chef.

Operated and developed by Happier People Management, The Water Street Associates (WSA) Building is a modern workspace for the Fashion, Arts, Culture, and Technology industries. 700,000 sq. ft. of programming area, spread across 31 floors, will offer Health & Wellness, Dining, Retail, and the Arts intermixed with coworking spaces, offices, and a Members' community for a holistic experience. Responsibilities:
- Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use.
- Assist the chef by preparing all menu items for the restaurant
- Knowledge of Bread making, Cake decorating, cookies, & chocolates
- Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
- Takes Daily Inventory of all production items and records and tallies what has been depleted and produced
- Aids with ordering of food items with the chef to ensure product is in house
- Ensure food is stored away properly when not in use.
- Has fully comprehension of the menu and is trained on the preparation of all ingredients
- Always maintain a clean and orderly kitchen station by sanitizing surfaces and disposal of trash when needed.
- Comply with sanitation guidelines.
- Time management and has ability to execute recipes promptly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is desirable.
- Training from a culinary school is an asset.
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook 2 to 3 years
- Pastry production, hotel or catering experience is a plus.
- Possesses a Food handlers License
- Strong organizational skills: ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to lift or push 50 #
- Very good physical condition and endurance.

The base pay range for this position is a salary range of $21.00 - $22,00 hourly per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
