Eaglestone is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to assist with the coordination of the organization’s payroll functions and payroll related compliance activities across the company’s various jurisdictions. Ensuring payroll is processed on time and accurately and as ensuring payroll deductions for benefits and taxes are managed accurately. This is a hands-on position, and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization. This position reports to the Sr Human Resources Director.
Requirements
What you will do:
- Process payroll and support payroll team to analyze, prepare, and input data to process weekly payrolls for union and non-union payroll for 1200 employees
- Maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures for the best efficiency and automation.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Performs research and analysis of payroll related tax issues as they arise. Ensures that companies are state tax compliant.
- Resolve any error reports related to employee payroll deductions and retirement and benefit plan contributions. Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee contributions.
- Facilitates processing of year-end W-2 and other required employee forms.
- A partner with Human Resources to drive improvements within HRIS system.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
- Supervises a team of 1, trains new staff, oversees workflow of department, provides performance management.
- Work in Box Street in Brooklyn office 5 days, with opportunity to work 1 day from home.
What you will bring:
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Experience with union payrolls, including fringe benefits, prevailing wages, and certified payrolls.
- Experience with multi-state payroll
- Knowledge of automated Time & Attendance and geofencing
- Supervisory and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in payroll and human resources software and tools.
- Experience in report generation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- $75,000-$90,000
A plus if you also bring:
- Has managed a payroll implementation.
- Advanced knowledge of Vista payroll
- Construction industry experience
- BS/BA degree
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
