Solid Sealing Technology (SST), a leading designer and manufacturer of small-scale electrical components for industrial, medical, and research facilities, is seeking a Production Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Production Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing of small-scale electrical components used in various industries worldwide. Position Summary
Integrates and improves the manufacturing system and related processes to drive productivity and quality. Supports all aspects of production operations with an emphasis on moving new products through the prototype stage into production. Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality control, and production, to optimize production methods and meet customer demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements new manufacturing methods or processes to improve existing operations.
- Investigates or resolves operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks.
- Identifies opportunities or implements changes to improve manufacturing processes or products or to reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
- Applies continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness without comprising safety requirements.
- Provides technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
- Trains new and existing employees on production processes.
- Collaborates with design engineering team to ensure manufacturability of new products and seamless transition from prototype to production.
- Reviews product designs for manufacturability or completeness.
- Troubleshoots new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
- Determines root causes of failures or recommends changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods, using statistical procedures.
- Prepares reports summarizing information or trends related to manufacturing performance.
- Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
- Designs layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
- Designs, installs, or troubleshoots manufacturing equipment.
- Evaluates manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards and ensures compliance with approved production methods and quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in mechanical, industrial, materials science, or a related field.
- Two years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with engineering, technical support, sales, and management.
- Understanding of mechanical, industrial or materials science engineering principles and the ability to apply them in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with process improvement to reduce scrap and/or costs from established product lines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Annual Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 per year
The actual base pay offered may vary depending on experience and job-related knowledge/skills.
