Full Job Description
Deliver Project Management:
- Consult with management and review proposals for goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of resources.
- Oversee internal and external systems/application development projects from inception to successful implementation: project objectives, scope and level of effort; project strategies and plans; assist with getting projects off the ground, keeping them on track and on budget, and resolving issues; monitor progress against plan.
- Develop consolidated project plans, specifying high level goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources. Monitors, analyses, assesses deviation from the project plans & ensures the achievement of project milestones. Ensures that all project plans are realistic and are maintained.
- Ensures that project metholdologies are followed and that all mandatory project work products are completed for projects.
- Consolidate technical scope and objectives of all projects considering cross-project needs and opportunities.
- Assess and coordinate scheduled project deliverables, milestones and required tasks across projects.
- Coordinate across projects or workstreams, respond to, monitor, and document requests for changes from original specifications.
Exhibit Leadership Effectiveness:
- Assist with the assignment of project personnel.
- Direct and coordinate activities of project resources to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
- Confer with project resources to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
- Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout the project life cycle.
- Create and maintain an engaged work environment by ensuring clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
- Own project results and assist teams to deliver performance within the range of targeted expectations.
- Assume key overall responsibility for ensuring that sponsors have easy access to information that is useful to them.
- Work closely with business sponsors to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs
- Lead the effort in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs.
- Follow established standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Review status reports prepared by project personnel, and modify schedules and plans as required.
- Prepare project status reports, and keep management, customers and others informed of project status and related issues.
- Coordinate update meetings to communicate plans, status and issues to higher levels of management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management or equivalent work experience
- 6 - 10+ years in project management including large complex tranformational project
- Experience with Agile (including scrum techniques and artifacts such as Scrum, Kanban, user stories, backlogs, Scrum/Kanban boards, sprint planning, retrospectives, burndown metrics, velocity).
- PMP and Agile Certifications desired
