Advanced Automation Corporation (AAC) is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join our team and oversee the quality of all deliverables for the Defense Language Institute Language Center (DLIFLC) Foreign Area Officers (FAO) Language Program. Quality Control Specialist responsibilities include developing quality standards, conducting tests and identifying issues in the production of learning materials and courseware, ensuring that all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and professionalism. This role demands a meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach in effectively facilitating QA/QC flow. Ultimately, you will work with several teams of Language Subject Matter Experts (SME), Instructional Designers, and Software Developers to ensure our final products meet both contractual and organization’s standards across the board.
Responsibilities
- Lead, initiate, delegate, and maintain ownership of quality control tasks to project team members.
- Have deep knowledge about the Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) and the contract Quality Control Plan (QCP): procedures for scheduling, conducting, and documenting inspections; discrepancy identification and correction; corrective action procedures to include procedures for addressing Government surveillance that has identified non-conformances; and procedures for root cause analysis to identify root cause(s) and implement corrective action procedures to prevent re-occurrence of discrepancies
- Ensure adherence to standardized procedures/methodologies for monitoring and documenting contract performance to ensure all contract requirements are met.
- Establish and maintain procedures for trend analysis and procedures for collecting and addressing customer feedback/complaints.
- Develop and update quality standards and checklists responsive to evolving project needs. Implement these standards across various teams and projects.
- Conduct thorough reviews of all deliverables to ensure they meet established quality standards concerning style, tone, structure, and grammar. Ensure all source materials are correctly cited and referenced.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to team members on quality assurance tasks to foster continuous improvement.
- Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and adherence to quality standards.
- Deliver detailed reports on quality issues and progress to Project Managers and Program Managers, ensuring transparency and ongoing improvement in our processes.
- Partner with leadership teams to integrate quality milestones into project plans and schedules.
- Assume ownership of the Quality Control Plan (QCP) and enforce its standards.
- Recommend, implement and monitor preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality assurance standards are achieved.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in quality assurance, education, education technology, or related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in editing, proofreading, and quality assurance. Prior leadership experience in quality control of IMI products is desirable.
- Familiarity with various style manuals and standards.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven quality assurance team leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, and SharePoint.
