Full Job Description
The Restaurant Door Person, also known as a Guest Relations Specialist, is responsible for creating a positive first impression for guests as they enter the restaurant Habibi. They play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all patrons. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
The ideal candidate will quickly be able to adapt to the brand, values, and culture of the company, evoking passion and excitement for the process in all involved while providing an upbeat and positive client and team experience. Because we are a small team, we all wear many hats and are happy to roll up our sleeves and lend a hand whenever needed. Can-do attitudes and respectful, inclusive outlooks are greatly valued and expected of all team members.
- Greet guests as they arrive, warmly welcoming them to the restaurant.
- Open doors and assist guests with entering and exiting the establishment, especially if they have special needs or are carrying items.
- Manage the restaurant's waiting list by accurately recording guest names, party sizes, and estimated wait times.
- Provide accurate information about the restaurant's offerings, specials, and any relevant promotions.
- Communicate effectively with restaurant staff to ensure seamless coordination between the front door and the dining area.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain a neat and organized front entrance area, including ensuring that it is clean and free from clutter.
- Monitor the flow of guests, anticipating busy periods and taking proactive measures to manage crowds effectively.
- Collaborate with the host/hostess and floor staff to optimize table turnover and maintain efficient operations.
- Stay updated on the restaurant's policies, menus, and events to provide accurate information to guests.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, serving as a representative of the restaurant's brand.
- Follow security and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or hospitality training is a plus.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to create a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
- Strong communication skills to convey information clearly and courteously to guests.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure and handle challenging situations with grace.
- Basic organizational skills to manage guest waiting lists, reservations, and seating arrangements.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist guests with entering/exiting the restaurant.
- A customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering outstanding service.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Familiarity with the restaurant's cuisine, offerings, and promotions.
- Knowledge of basic safety and security procedures.

- Pay: $24.00- $26.00/ hour
